1.  Don't Stop Working Out. Yes, keep your daily exercise routine. Eating a lot on Christmas and New Year's eve has no differences on eating more during Birthdays, Thanksgiving and some big events. Also, it's good to work out before a party on the next day, at least you know how much food or carbs you'll take - at least you know you intake limitation.

2. Eat your regular meal before party. One of the most forgotten tips, always eat your dinner before going to a party. Why? Obviously, if you skip your regular dinner, then you'll come and arrive to the party hungry and might consumed everything in the buffet table. So try to keep your stomach slightly full with fruits and yogurts or oats.

3. Choose and Eat Healthy Foods. During that party, for sure various kinds of dishes are served but hey, focus on vegetables and protein rich foods such as lean Meat from beef and chicken, vegetable salad and some desserts which is good for your health like fruits and fruit salad. You can take or indulge a little with those calories rich foods but just a little, don't forget to count your intake.

4.  Don't fill your plate. It may sound crazy but yes, this is effective. Do not fill your plate with different dishes and eat slowly. You won't notice you'll be full and next time you know, you're done with your dinner and already enjoying one's company with cocktails or fruit juice.

5. Drink and Dance. It's okay to drink beer or any alcoholic drinks but make sure to hit the dance floor and sweat it out.  Take note, one gram of alcohol contains 7 calories - let's burn this!

6. Drink Plenty of Water. Water has been very useful in everybody's diet. Keep dehydrated and drink more water, thus you might consume less food.

7.  Get some sleep. Of course, you'll be exhausted after a party but as much as your mind needs this (sleep) , your muscles needs rest too.

Working Out And Sports Are Components To Be Healthy And Fit

While newbies think that going to the Gym means getting that hunky body easily, Experts have been consistent with the evidence that participating to Sports and Physical activities can do more and maybe can contribute a lot to a healthier lifestyle. But on some factors, working out at the gym has something to do with that bulky muscles and some six packs abs. According to our GYM BUFF Mr. Ronan Christian D. Alao, going to the gym for work out and joining sports should go together. "I'm proud to say I can do more than working out at the gym. With my height of 5'7 1/2 and a weight of 132lbs, I'm getting involved with physical activities such as doing my favorite sports. It is important to use your hard earned body to the test. Both working out and sports should be together like doing a "cha-cha". In other words, It takes two to tango. " Alao added.

In his Gradeschool years, Christian used to be an outcast due to his sickly and scrawny look. But that changed when he enjoyed himself in some sports recommended by his Doctor. He did running, swimming and soccer as his favorite of them all, then came skateboarding. "Growing up was hard! Especially when people only judge by the physical looks. After I graduated highschool, I had a deep depression. I was physically unattractive. According to people, I got the face but not the body. A lot of rejections from those girls I courted were experienced. Prior to college, I decided to change my outlook." Christian confessed.

Then a determination was observed with self discipline and mind-setting, Christian was able to achieve a healthy and of course fit lifestyle. But how? While doing his favorite sports (as mentioned above), he also go to the Gym to lift some metals and not just a simple lifting but a proper-execution type of lifting. He was motivated and used his momentum to slowly gain the body he wanted. "It is not the amount or quantity of plates you lift, but the execution and quality of lifting are greatly observed." Christian advised.

Be positive in every work out and sports you are joining. Getting fit is not an overnight job, thus, don't be disappointed but keep the determination goes on.As what Christian highlighted on, "Getting fit is a choice. You can't wait for someone to go with you at the gym if he/she is not motivated as much as you are. It is you and you alone that can benefit from it. Not only looking good physically, but also in health and mind too."

Generally, our Gym Buff Christian suggested not to minimize your eating routine. He does not believe in a diet. "I do not have a specific diet for as long as it is real food. Eating brown rice, eggs, sweet potatoes, fruits and veggies, oats, fiber rich foods as cliche' as it gets, are good for you.If you're born skinny, be sure to eat a lot and drink a lot of water ....and I mean a LOT of food and water to replace the food you burn at the gym." Christian ended.

My first experience of watching movie in Cinema was in Gaisano Country Mall with my older sister every during her salary day and it was during my High School years. Wow! Time really flashes so fast! And on October 13, 2013, this coming Sunday our very own Gaisano Country Mall celebrates 20th year anniversary with a run for a cause dubbed as Gaisano Country Mall 20th Anniversary Run. This race is in cooperation with CLUB in Unity for Restoration thru Empowerment (CURE) Foundation in which proceeds will be donated and to be used for their Outreach programs.

26th MILO Little Olympics kicks-off in Cebu City

Nationwide interschool league adds basketball to sports roster

Manila, Philippines, August 13, 2013 – Leading nutrition, health and wellness company Nestle Philippines, makers of MILO, today announced that the MILO Little Olympics, the country’s longest-running interschool youth sports competition, is launching its 26^th season with the first of four regional legs at the Cebu City Sports Complex on August 16 to 18 and 24 to 25. After Visayas, the competition will advance to Mindanao, NCR and Luzon, before returning to the Queen City of the South for the 26^th MILO Little Olympics National Finals.

The MILO Little Olympics has contributed tremendously to the discovery and progress of local talent by helping the youth gain confidence, practice teamwork and imbibe values that stay with them for life. As part of its continued commitment to finding the next generation of sports heroes, MILO will be adding a Filipino favorite, Basketball, to its roster of sporting events this year.

”Filipinos have a huge heart for basketball because of its competitive and thrilling nature,” said Robbie de Vera, MILO Sports Executive. “We at MILO recognize that many young basketeers dream of playing in big leagues like the PBA or even represent the country in international competitions like FIBA Asia. We want to help fuel the youth’s passion for basketball and for other sports as well by providing a quality competition that helps them showcase their athletic abilities, determination and drive as the first step towards achieving greatness in international competitions.”

With the invaluable support of the Department of Education, the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee, the MILO Little Olympics offers a variety of sports events, including Athletics, Badminton, Chess, Football, Gymnastics, Lawn Tennis, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tae Kwon Do, Volleyball, Sipa or Sepak Takraw and Scrabble, to student-athletes from public and private schools nationwide.

Last year, Team Visayas failed to secure its fourth consecutive victory against rival NCR, who took home the Perpetual Trophy for the first time as the Overall Champion. Over 30,000 sports enthusiasts filled the Marikina Sports Complex to witness the 25^th MILO Little Olympics grand finale. “We are expecting even more spectators and sports enthusiasts to gather and experience the thrilling youth sports games in the different regional events,” added de Vera. “We are also looking forward to seeing a heated rivalry unfold as NCR guards its throne from a former Champion.”

“Throughout the years, we have seen significant growth in the level of competition for the MILO Little Olympics. With quality athletes from across all regions and the addition of basketball to the roster of events, we expect to see a higher degree of intensity and determination among our players to reclaim the championship throne at the finale on our home soil,” MILO Little Olympics Visayas organizer Ricky Ballesteros.

De Vera further expressed that local government units, Department of Education, Philippine Sports Commission, and the Philippine Olympic Committee contribute greatly to the event’s massive success. “Throughout the years, the MILO Little Olympics has prioritized the safety and security of student-athletes across all regions with the support of the local government units and organizations. MILO demonstrates this commitment by deploying comprehensive measures and round the clock medical and security teams in each venue.”

The 26^th season of the MILO Little Olympics has been set to take place in a new Luzon province, Baguio City. In place of Lingayen, Pangasinan, athletes will compete in the City of Pines to allow more budding talents of Luzon to experience the premiere sporting event, while still within proximity of Pangasinan-based participants.

After the Visayas leg on August 16 to 18, 24 to 25 at the Cebu City Sports Complex, the 26^th MILO Little Olympics will shift to Mindanao (Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Center) on August 23 – 25, NCR (Marikina Sports Complex) on August 30 – 31, September 1, 7 and 8, and Luzon (Baguio City Athletic Bowl) on September 6 to 8. The All winners from the eliminations legs will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Cebu for the National Finals on October 25 to 27, 2013. [PRESS RELEASE]

" This is my diet plan when im having meals, 1 cup of brown rice, or medium sized sweet potato, or 1 cup of oatmeal 2 banana fruits, broccoli or any other desired vegetable 6-8 ounces of chicken or lean fish." 2. Race kit will only be released to the actual participants. Authorization letters will not be honored.

3. Race kits must be used by the registered participant only. Passing your registration without proper notification to the organizing committee will mean 5 Years BAN to ALL Sunrise Events, inc. races.

4. Registration is going to be at The Marquee with the following schedule. Please take note that the cut-off time will strictly be implemented. THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSION OF REGISTRATION TIME.

August 1 (Thursday) 2pm to 5:30pm
August 2 (Friday) 9:00am to 12:00noon and 2:00pm to 5:30pm

5. For Relay Teams, all team members must be present during the registration. Race kits will not be released unless everyone is present to sign the waiver as a group.
